Hehe
Shall we go ride the Peak Tram?
Hong Kong is all about the night view.
And the night view is at Victoria Peak! (That's what they say~)
After my younger sibling spent days searching through Naver blogs like crazy,
they found a cheap option and booked it there.
It was a Chinese company, but it was connected to Korea so we could buy it at a lower price, they said.
We also booked Ocean Park for the third day here, lol
It was just us Koreans, lol
The bus announcements were only in Chinese, lol
But luckily, an uncle who could speak English helped us.
See you again.
If you, like us, don't mind it being a Chinese company and just want to buy the cheapest ticket possible, I also recommend this route!!
<Hong Kong Peak Tram Express E-Ticket>
Pros: No lines, get on right away
(It's Express, so you pay about 5,000 won more, but it's much more convenient. The lines are crazy long... If you don't do this, on weekends it takes about 2 hours at least, they say.)
Cons: Only usable on the designated date and time
(We arrived early and asked to change it to an earlier time, but the Chinese lady said absolutely not!)
Okay, let's go!
(Continued from the previous post)
We left the Starbucks concept store and headed towards Central Station.
Why is the Gucci store so pretty...
Around here, Miranda suggested we take a taxi to the Victoria Peak Tram station.
I didn't really mind, so I asked my mom what she wanted to do.
She said she wanted to walk up, enjoying the sights, lol
The red Hong Kong taxi we could have taken, lol
So, back to the tram station.
Whoa!!!!!!!!
I was just taking pictures of the tall, beautiful palm trees and the building, but apparently it's the HSBC building that's on the 20 Hong Kong dollar bill!!!!
HSBC Bank on the 20 Hong Kong Dollar bill
It was a sight we wouldn't have seen or taken pictures of if we'd taken a taxi.
Miranda said we made the right decision to listen to mom, lol
Mom was proud, too.
We found the Klook sign, exchanged our tickets, waited for everyone in our time slot group, and left.
It was good that we got it cheap, but being split into groups like this was a little...
My sibling said they didn't know it was going to be like this with groups, lol
In Hong Kong, no matter which restaurant you go to, there are no napkins, and some places don't even have toilet paper in the restrooms.
My mom sweats a lot, and Kenny saw that and gave her some pocket tissues.
He gave us each one, and they smelled so good, like lavender.
Such thoughtfulness... I asked my mom.
"Mom, you and Kenny were both young and single before you got married, and if Kenny could speak Korean, what do you think about Kenny for you??????????"
Mom, of course, says he's great, lol
Kenny, tall and handsome.
I was being frugal and only took out one tissue to smell it and save it, but Kenny gave me another one the next day and told me not to worry about it, that it was fine.
Miranda also gave me one of hers.
Why am I so touched by things like this...
I wonder if it's one of my strengths... lol
When someone I care about, someone I like, does something for me with a thoughtful touch, regardless of the cost, I'm deeply touched, lol, and without realizing it, I express it with the biggest actions, lol, because I'm so happy, lol.
Yay, we arrived at the tram station. A commemorative photo.
Mom, my sibling, and me, lol
Whoa, what's with the line!!!! And then
There was just as long a line on the other side, too, ugh.
Ugh, why did we have to come on a weekend...
But
Our reservation was for a tour group, so we were going to enter this special area!!!
So nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like at Lotte World, when you have to wait in line for the Flume Ride from "Estimated wait time: 1 hour 40 minutes,"
It's like entering the Magic Pass lane.
Waiting for the tram going up to Victoria Peak.
Apparently, you can take a taxi there, too.
But our boss and others said the scenery outside while riding the tram up is also amazing.
Anyway, when you ride the Victoria Peak Tram,
You
absolutely have to sit on the right side!!!!!
It's a must!!!!!!!!
I even wrote down that it's the right side, but when I got on, knowing it was the right side, I quickly sat on the left, lol.
Idiot, lol
So, getting a seat is key, and everyone tries to get on first and sit by the door.
I thought it was The Walking Dead, lol
It's pretty, lol. The night view is truly beautiful.
During our trip, it was cloudy and foggy a lot, and honestly, the night view I saw on the way up on this tram was the most beautiful.
It was more beautiful than the view from Sky Terrace 428 and Symphony of Lights, the night view I briefly saw from inside the tram on a non-foggy night.
The wind was blowing super hard and it was very foggy. Still, it was a magnificent night view.
I wished I could come back on a clear day without any fog.
Oh, I only took off my jacket for the photo, it was freezing cold, lol.
There are photo zones like this on the way down, too.
There are also optical illusion photos.
There are cute pandas, and things like a red goldfish escaping from a fish tank, or a train exploding, etc.
Ugh, the way down... There were so many people, we waited in line for a while and barely got on the tram to go down.
Jimmy told me to wear hot pants and a tank top, but Hong Kong was way too cold for me on the first day, lol.
Right at Central Station Exit L3, where the shuttle bus to the hotel was, there was a SASA store.
It's a drugstore that sells cosmetics.
My mom also found tiger balm after searching Naver like crazy, lol.
When she was little, our grandpa used to put it on her often as a cure-all, she said.
We bought a bunch of those night and tiger-patterned pain patches and headed back to the hotel.
Come to think of it, we were so tired, we didn't even eat dinner.
We were going to just sleep, but
We each had a cup of kimchi, pickled vegetables, and danmuji (pickled radish) with one cup of rice, lol.
Mom said she misses Miranda so much.
My sibling also said they want to hang out with Kenny again tomorrow.
Oh, what is this? I already told them we should hang out, but they said they want some family time... I already told them, but they said thank you so much for Saturday, that we can only spend time on Saturday...
I sent a WhatsApp message to Miranda and Kenny.
Mom and my sibling miss you both so much. If you're not busy and it's okay with you, would it be possible to hang out with us tomorrow? Thank you so much for all the great memories.
Kenny said he'd love to.
Thank you, Kenny... Mom, my sibling, and me are so happy! We love it~!
Miranda was like, "Whoa." This was news to her.
Since she's Chinese, she can only come to Hong Kong once a week...
She usually comes to Hong Kong every Friday for work. (Miranda is a cool career woman, a vice president at a Chinese branch.)
But she said she saved this day to hang out with us on Saturday.
And she wanted to hang out with us on Sunday, too, but she couldn't come, ugh.
I was so grateful and also felt so sorry.
Mom said she doesn't like China, lol.
But she said she can come on Monday since we're having dinner with Jimmy on Monday!!
She'll come to Hong Kong right after work and have dinner with us.
We ate some really delicious local food on Monday, and I need to post about it soon.
And so, we ended our first night in Hong Kong.
With aching legs and wonderful memories.
