I usually carefully check each hotel before deciding, but this hotel was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at.
My younger sibling and I spent a lot of time searching through Naver blogs.
I wonder if we only saw reviews sponsored by Expedia or other companies... It was a huge disappointment.
Choosing a hotel for this Hong Kong trip was the hardest decision I've ever made.
Not only were all the hotels over HKD 200,000 per night, but with my mom also coming, we had to consider things like location, transportation, harbor views, breakfast views, and whether or not there was a pool. We wasted so much time haha.
I never thought the place I chose just a week before would be like this... Sigh.
Harbour Plaza Metropolis (都會海逸酒店)
Harbour Plaza Metropolis
7 Metropolis Drive, Hunghom, Kowloon, Hong Kong
1. I understand that the rooms are small, but the pool water is absolutely freezing, especially in winter, and not usable.
2. There's no separate heater in the room, only an air conditioner. It was so cold that I had to call and request a heater from guest services, and even then, it didn't work very well.
3. After showering in the bathroom, the entire floor becomes flooded.
4. While there is a shuttle bus, the schedule isn't ideal, and it's often crowded, making it difficult to board. I ended up having to take a taxi many times because I couldn't wait for the next shuttle. The taxi fare from the shuttle bus stop to the Metropolis Hotel is HKD 22, so it's cheap and close.
5. The location is good. It's close to Hung Hom Station, there's a mall right below, and most importantly, it's close to Tsim Sha Tsui. This is the only positive aspect.
6. Someone mentioned a welcome food amenity in their review, but there was none.
7. I only saw one other Korean guest during my stay. The majority of the guests were Chinese and Indian.
8. It was nice that I could use the shuttle for free even after checking out when I went to Tsim Sha Tsui to leave my luggage.
9. Someone said in a review that they could borrow a power adapter for free, but that's not true. You have to pay HKD 30 to rent one.
10. The entire room is extremely dark. Even when applying makeup in the bathroom, which is the brightest area, it's hard to see clearly when you go outside. Women will understand what I mean.
11. It's good that they provide one bottle of water per guest, but why is it placed in the bathroom??
<For those who have already booked or are planning to stay here~~>
1. How to get from Hong Kong Airport to Harbour Plaza Metropolis Hotel
I took bus A21 from Hong Kong Airport.
Bus A21 terminates at MTR Hung Hom Station, and that's where I got off.
It took about 1 hour and 20 minutes from the airport by bus.
Someone's bag was stolen from the bus by another passenger, and there was a big commotion.
I was so scared that I checked my bag too, but thankfully, it was still there.
2. How to get from Hung Hom Station to the Metropolis
Get off at the terminal and cross the street to the left.
Then
You'll see this train station, and take the escalator up next to it.
There's also a Metropolis sign there.
Go up and
Go straight into that building.
Go straight and then right, and the hotel is right there.
It looks clean and spacious.
The elevator is transparent, so you can see outside. My mom took 10 photos, of course.
The hallway is just okay.
They say every hotel in Hong Kong is small, but the size is fine.
But why is the water in the bathroom?? ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ
The amenities included toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, body wash, cotton swabs, shower caps, and a comb.
This is the brightest part of the room, but it's a little hard to put on makeup...
There's also an induction cooktop, sink, and refrigerator. We used it to store our cosmetics, though haha.
Since there were three of us, we also had a brown, foldable bed like that.
The bed and cushions were just okay. They gave us four pillows for three people, but I used one extra haha.
You can see the pool from the window, but the view isn't great.
Where's the pretty view I saw? Who took that photo that convinced me to book this hotel?
And that lady swimming is amazing because the water is absolutely freezing and unusable in winter.
I got so angry that I asked the staff, and they said it was 18 degrees Celsius.
I mean, it's part of the resort fee, so why don't they at least make the water warm?
I thought the evening view might be nice, but it's just meh ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ
The closet is decent.
But the hangers can't be moved.

Shuttle bus schedule from Tsim Sha Tsui Station to the hotel
I was worried that there wouldn't be a schedule, so I took a photo, but thankfully, they gave me a copy at check-in, so I kept it in the back of my phone.
When you exit MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station Exit L3,
You'll see Ralph Lauren and Chanel to the right, and you'll find the shuttle stop in that alley.
It's in front of the Kowloon Hotel, in front of the Peninsula Office Tower.
There are shuttle buses for other hotels too, so make sure you get on the one that says Metropolis.
It takes less than 5 minutes to get there.
<Shuttle bus stop at the hotel>
Right outside the front entrance, to the right,
Wait in front of the sign that says this.
