464th G-TELP Review on January 23, 2022
I had to take the #Gtelp because a certified English score is required when applying for the first stage of a national qualification exam.
This exam does not offer a waiver for overseas universities.
G-TELP is used as an English proficiency substitute test for national examinations (civil service, military service, firefighting, police, etc.), overseas dispatch of civil servants, national qualifications (patent attorney, certified public accountant, tax accountant, labor lawyer, real estate appraiser, administrative officer, tourist guide interpreter, hotel management specialist, etc.), corporate recruitment and personnel management, promotion evaluation, university (graduate school) graduation qualifications and thesis review, and English proficiency assessment and educational materials for elementary, middle, and high schools.
I took the exam at #Shinsoo Middle School. It was nice to be at an exam venue with a track and field like this again.
I recommend it because it's easier than TOEIC and the scores come out quickly, but it's expensive.
It's also good that it starts at 3 PM, and they seem to let you enter until 2:50 PM.
Ah, OMR cards! It's been so long.
G-TELP Grammar

Just memorize the below and you can pass the grammar section. (In the case of obligatoriness, I just wrote down the words from the past questions and memorized them until they told me to put my belongings away at the exam site.)
If 'should' is omitted at the beginning, just choose the base form of the verb without any hesitation!! (2-3 will definitely come out)
✍️Obligatory adjectives: mandatory, desirable, important, essential
✍️Obligatory verbs: advise, recommend, suggest, command, demand, request, claim
G-TELP Listening
26 questions out of 80
A total of 4 passages, with 6-7 questions for each passage.
Uniquely, you hear the questions first, then the passage, then the questions again before answering.
Taking notes on key words from the questions like why, how, people's names, or the next task helped me answer the questions.
Be sure to take the sample test questions provided on the official G-TELP website!
G-TELP Reading
28 questions out of 80
Caution: This section takes the most time, so time management is crucial!!!!!
A total of 4 passages, with 7 questions for each passage.
There are two vocabulary questions in each passage. The vocabulary was easier compared to other exams, but you have to understand the meaning within the reading passage, and I kept getting 2 or so questions wrong because they were confusing.
Read the question first, find the “keyword,” and then look for it in the passage to answer it 1:1.
Read question 1 -> Find the answer in the passage and answer question 1 -> Read question 2 -> Find the answer in the passage and answer it in the same way.
BUT, it's much easier than TOEFL.
G-TELP Discounts
I searched for a while since there were no discounts for general applicants, unlike students...
I found out that you get a discount coupon if you purchase a practice test on the #GtelpEdu official website!!!!
- Sign up for G-TELP Edu
- Purchase the practice test for 5,900 won
- Receive the coupon
- Take the exam for 30,000 won
They collected all the exam papers after the test, so it was clear that there were no past questions.
G-TELP Provisional Scoring
It was available on Hackers.
Some people write down the answers on the back of their ID card with a mechanical pencil to check their provisional scores.
I didn't know that lol. I didn't study with Hackers, but I agreed to check the answers in real-time.
Reading: So-so, Grammar: Easy.
