Fukuoka Airport Departure Tips after your Japan Trip!

I've been wanting to visit Fukuoka lately, so here's a summary of things to prepare for when heading to the airport. Please refer to it!😎

Highly Recommended Things to Do

💟 Mobile Check-in

The lines at the check-in counters are seriously long. It's like, 'Wow, are there really this many Koreans visiting Fukuoka?' During peak season or weekends, you can easily wait for 1 hour and 20 minutes...🥶

You really need to be prepared for it..

If you don't have checked baggage, doing a mobile check-in is the way to go!!!

Even if you have baggage, you can do web/app check-in beforehand and use the baggage drop-off line, so keep that in mind.

✅ Jin Air Mobile Check-in Link

You'll receive a ticket and a KakaoTalk notification message after completing the mobile check-in.

Jin Air offers mobile check-in, which was great because I could go straight to the departure procedures and avoid the long lines at the airport.

When you do a mobile check-in through the app, a boarding pass is generated, and you can simply show the boarding pass QR code for immediate processing.

Web/app check-in is available up to 1 hour and 30 minutes before departure!

💟 Take the International Line Shuttle Bus!

After getting off the Airport Line subway, go upstairs and take the free shuttle bus to the airport.

But! Be careful here!

Make sure you take the bus to the International Terminal, not the Domestic Terminal.

If you get on the Domestic Terminal bus and then have to go to the International Terminal, it can take over an hour, and you might miss your flight!

💟 Buy Snacks at the 1st Floor 7-Eleven!

If you have leftover coins and need to buy something, do it before going through departure procedures~.

Once you get off the shuttle bus and enter the terminal, you'll find a 7-Eleven right there, so grab your snacks then.

Why? Because the convenience stores inside after departure procedures are usually picked over, and there's not much to eat.

It's located on the first floor, at the very right end near the escalator that takes you to the 3rd floor departure lobby.

They have Ichiran ramen (although it's best to eat it fresh at the restaurant, the cup noodles you buy here aren't that good ㅜㅜ Sad),

You can also grab coffee, and their hand-drip coffee is super cheap! Spend all your remaining coins here.

There's really nothing once you go through departure, so be sure to shop here.

My favorite mentaiko onigiri, highly recommend the 7-Eleven ones!!

💟 Traveler's Customs Declaration & Q-Code (큐코드) Mobile

Doing both of these beforehand is super convenient.

Now you can use your mobile device to replace the customs declaration form you used to fill out on the plane. I recommend doing this in advance using a SIM card or pocket Wi-Fi!

✅ Traveler's Customs Declaration App

✅ Quarantine Information Pre-entry (Q-Code)

The Q-CODE line is much shorter.

Things You Don't Need to Worry About

❎ Don't Get Your Hopes Up for Duty-Free Shops

Honestly, there's nothing there lol. Most of them are closed, and there's no food to eat.

There were a few Ichiran souvenirs, but the line was insanely long.

That's about it~~

❎ Don't Bother Bringing Water

I had some complimentary water from the hotel when I checked out and brought it with me, but it was confiscated at departure procedures lol.

Oh, right... It's because water is considered a potential explosive hazard.

There are quite a few vending machines in front of the gate, so you can just buy something there. Don't bring your own.

Hope you get to go to Fukuoka soon~~👋
